I have a farfetched ridiculous epic theory...

I have an epic theory I'd like to share with everyone

My theory is, how cool would it be if the ALpha Legion were planned to be one of the 'Big Bads' of an edition in the future?! Now hear me out...

When Alpharius died Omegon felt his death, and apparently Omegon died at the hand of Guilliman, I actually quite like the idea that both are dead but they had seen a future of saving mankind by destroying the Imperium however they both needed to die. When they both died it would send a complex psychic/warpy vision, like a genetic flaw in the form of an activation phrase that simultaneously subconsciously enters all AL minds. However, prior to their death, Alpharius and Omegon hypnotised and sent 100'000 astartes into other factions to infiltrate. THEN when the activation phrase is broadcast across the galaxy it will wake up all these sleeper agents in every corner of the galaxy: in SM factions, chaos factions, multiple planets and star systems. Hence starting the mass back-stabbing of the 12th Edition Big Bad Alpha Legion.

At some point, Akurra in the recent books finds out what this activation phrase is, but when he hears it he understands it isn't the right time to use it - but he is shown/sees that point in the future.

When that time comes he'll broadcast the activation phrase across the galaxy, maybe via the warp somehow? (It could be some badass line like The Heads of the First Hydra Breathes Again)

And the best part? When Alpharius and Omegon died their consciousness/soul was trapped in the warp, waiting to hear this activation phrase. And when it does, it reawakens and enters the mind/body of a legionnaire turning him into a kind of warped Daemon Prince, or maybe even just a juiced up Custodes sized Astartes. Then when that one dies it transfers to another legionnaire... Kind of like a watered down Avatar of Kaine situation - or like the myth of a Hydra's regrowing heads.

Tell me what you think, Brothers

11th edition Disruption Death Trap ruling

I feel like this is a dumb question... I'm a big fan of how Deceptors plays this edition, but just wondered about the wording of the Death Trap primary mission:

When it says for the bottom 4 points "Control one or more objectives (excluding your Home Objective)" and you can't booby trap in your Deployment Zone or your Home Objective... Do you get nothing from holding your Home at all? So you could just leave it completely/just work to stop your opponent getting it?

I've gotten used to stickying it with cultists then letting them wander off to be a mob somewhere else, or sitting some traitor guard there to do... Well, nothing really, so wondered if there was any point in that or to flood them forward and try and help booby trap other things?

Big Summer Preview

Just watched GWs "The Big Summer Preview" video... Now, I'm aware this is a stretch (a huge stretch) BUT when they mentioned the new kill team would be "off the scale"... Could that be a clue for Alpha Legion Scaled armour? Maybe even a Kill Team that will get 40k rules just when the Solomon Akurra model is released??

(Please, someone humour me, I need it)

Alpha Legion kitbash advice

I have a Warhammer carboot sale style thing coming up and my alpha legion army is currently my "kitbash art project" army while we continue to wait for new models in 40k 🥲.

Does anyone have any advice for what models I should keep an eye out for? Bonus for anyone who has pictures of their own kitbashes as well!

Hello Brothers! I have an idea for a homebrew Alpha Legion "codex supplement" and I would like to hear the thoughts of the many Alpharius' and maybe ways to tweak it

One of the big things I like is that there are still so many Alpha Legion warbands who are not turned by chaos gods but are still effectively space marines with their military training. So, with that in mind I'm proposing a Harlequins approach in the Drukhari "Reaper's Wager" detachment:

• You can take up to half the overall army points of Adeptus Astartes models (excluding: Titan, Walker, Epic Heroes, Tacticus, and Terminator units), whilst the core of the army are Chaos Space Marines (excluding: Chaos Undevided, Epic Heroes, and Allied Chaos Daemons).

• Army rule will be Dark Pacts because we are of course "traitors". However, that also means that the AL Adeptus Astartes models can't take the Dark Pacts or Oath of Moment rules as they are not swayed by either path. Potentially a hindrance, but I like a cool narrative instead.

• Detachments wise, can either run Deceptors from Chaos OR Vanguard Spearhead from SM, trading the keywords in strategems to "Alpha Legion Infantry or Mounted Units" instead of the current 'Astartes' or 'Heretic Astartes'.

Essentially, I want to make cool Phobos and First Born stuff as Alpha Legion sleepers, but still want to have a kitbashed three-headed scaled heldrake flying about the place...
