Solution for sharp butt edge on adjustable butt plate?

All,

I have been using an Adjustable Butt Plate on my Cynergy, which I had installed by Graco.

I have the plate set up so that the butt plate is below the stock, which works well. However rarely, but still a couple times now, I have managed to cut my ear on the sharp butt edge of the stock part of the plate on recoil, since that's obviously a bit exposed due to the adjustable butt plate being lower. That part of the plate even pushes back my ear protection a bit.

Does anyone have any good solution to get that edge a bit softer?

Tape would be a last resort kind of thing, as that likely gets messed up rather often. But maybe that's a common occurrence and someone has a good solution for that?

Thanks!

All,

I'm going to start to commute to work by bike and would be glad for some gear recommendations, specifically jacket & pants. I usually ride in full leather gear, but that's not really feasible for commuting since I can't change at work.

So I'm looking at good-quality mesh gear (Central MS, so rather hot) that I can wear on top of my office-casual dress (dress shirt and khakis). It doesn't really need to work for cold/wet weather, I can always take the truck in these cases.

Things I'm looking for:

  • Mesh (the more the better)
  • Decent protection (CE Level 1 at the minimum), back protector available
  • Zipper to zip pants and jacket together
  • Price is not so much an issue, although I probably wouldn't want to shell out more than $500-1k for it.
  • Ideally the pants would have a long enough ankle zipper that I can take them off in the parking lot without needing to remove shoes.

I already found gear like the Klim Marrakesh, which looks great, but lacks the zipper to combine jacket and pants. And I think in case of a crash, it's a very good idea to keep the jacket from riding up and exposing myself to the tarmac.

Any good recommendations?

Thanks!
