How to get large amounts of exotic gases without food districts
After the economy changes to strategic resources (motes, crystals, gases) that nerfed refineries into the ground, what is a good way to get gases if you are playing as machine/thermofile/lithoid, especially early to midgame?
For normal bio runs or even for machines I tend to just put down a generator/mine/food planet with the extraction specialization, even small size 10-15 worlds generate a lot of rare resourses like this. You can do a food planet even as a machine empire, wasteful to gather the food but still certainly doable, but thermofile vulcanic worlds dont have food districts on their worlds so do you just accept the terrible habitability penalty and use a non-vulcanic world to make food? or do i have to take the traits that gives me gases from pops?
Seems like there should be better ways to get gases as machine/thermofile/lithoid than having to produce a lot of food you dont need?
