Parents of high achieving students?

Hi everyone! I have young children in elementary school, and like many parents, I’m starting to think about their long-term path. My parents in the bay area worked very hard to provide a strong start for me, and I'm hoping I can do the same for my kids. I really value a community that prioritizes both academic rigor and positive peer influences--and hopefully can do it with less pressure than the bay area!

I’m curious to hear from parents who have been in the district for a while: Is it feasible to aim for top-tier universities (like the UCs or Ivies) while staying in our local public schools?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you feel there’s a strong culture of motivated students within the schools?

If you have older kids who navigated the district and went on to great things, I’d love to hear about their experience!

We really want to make this work for our family and stay in EGUSD. I’d appreciate any positive insights or advice you have on making the most of the district’s resources. Thanks so much!
