Who is hiring in Elk Grove?

I 19M am looking for a part time job that I can do while I go to college at crc. I have applied to many places but I either get rejected or ghosted. Does anyone know of any businesses hiring in the EG or south sac area? I would prefer retail but I will be fine with food service or anything else if needed.

Thanks :)

Best indoor swim lessons for toddlers in Elk Grove?

Hey local parents! I’m starting the search for year-round indoor swim lessons for my 2-year-old daughter.

I am interested in the British Swim School inside the City Sports club on Calvine Rd. Before I sign up for their parent-and-child classes, I wanted to check if anyone here has firsthand experience with them. How is the instructors, the teacher-to-student ratio, teaching styles, and the overall vibe for a young toddler?

I’m also completely open to other indoor recs nearby. I’ve heard names like SafeSplash and Sunshine Swim Center thrown around for Elk Grove, but would love to know which one local families actually prefer for quality instruction and water safety foundation.

Appreciate any reviews or recommendations you can throw my way!

First Date: Success:)

For everyone wanting an update post-date, wait no longer it is here. I know my desire for privacy seems counterintuitive, but I try to be respectful and safe. Plus, it's Monday and figured this would be a good pick-me-up post.

We did go on the planned date at time and place! I think we clicked really well! I had such a great time, he expressed his enjoyment as well.

Things were learned, topics discussed, conversation was flowing, second date was planned. All the good hallmarks of a successful first date :)

We discussed the community's enthusiasm and support and we are both very touched by the positivity. Thank you all, again.

Have a great week, be excellent to each other!

To whoever broke my car window Saturday Night

They’re probably not gonna see this but someone threw something at my window or backed into my car and it clipped the window frame causing it to shatter. No note, not nothing I assumed just fled the scene. I have limited liability on the car because I’m borrowing it from my dad temporarily while getting my car fixed in the shop. Insurance is not gonna pay…

Fidium outages

Is anyone experiencing extended service outages requiring a service technician come out to restore service? This is the 2nd time in week that we have lost our service and customer service wasn't able to help. It took 3 days to get a tech out and it's going to take at least another 3 days again. I've had fidium for over a year and half now and it's been mostly fine but now I don't know what has changed.

Happy Hour spots

Let’s hear everyone’s favorite happy hour spots.

Recently I’ve been a fan of the 4 to 6, $1.99 tacos and $4 draft at Los Comprades.

Tall palm tree trimming

I have a tall palm tree with dead fronds. Can you recommend someone who can help me remove them? They came down during the wind and damaged some things. Tree is probably over 30 feet tall I think.

If you moved from a different school district, why do you like EGUSD better?

Considering making the move this year for my young kids. We have 3 kids under 6. One of the reasons we’re thinking about this is the school district coming from a small town.

First, has your mindset about your career shifted? Especially if you came from the bay.
Second, pros /cons about school district compared to old? Would you recommend the move?

Thanks

For those going to the Luke Bryan concert (photo from a neighbor in the area)

Traffic is backed up over 99. The Waterman entrance is also backed up to about Bradshaw. I've been standing here for about 10 minutes, and police seem to be alternating the one-way entrance for both sides every minute or so. A slow trickle is the best way to describe the entrance movement at this point. Good luck, have fun, and be safe.

Parking advice for Luke Bryan

I’m getting really nervous about the concert tmrw hearing it’s going to be a disaster. I don’t have a parking pass but planning on driving since I don’t live in Elk Grove. What should I do for parking any recommendations? Right now I’m planning to park at a friend’s house 15 minutes away from the venue and uber from there. Is there any advice or recommendations instead?

Do you or someone you know own a 2019-2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?

If so DM, I have molded rubber floor mats for the front and back seat for free to a good home. I want these to go to someone who actually needs them, not someone looking to sell them, so if you don’t actually have the vehicle, please don’t contact me.

Luke Bryan at Mahone Ranch

Hi all, my family and I are going to the Luke Bryan concert at Mahone Ranch this Saturday and I am looking for some advice. Does it make sense to go early like 2pm as we bought a parking pass and how long should we except to wait to get in and park. Any insight is greatly appreciated! This is my first time going to a concert in a long time.
