My cat is 14 and he has always peed around the house when he was younger he'd pee on the beds but now he pees on my dresser, next to my desk, in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms, by the front door, the couch, and next to the trash can, and if we leave the hall bathroom door open he'll pee on the carpets too. He also poops wherever he wants. He is litter trained and does occasionally use it but he just prefers to go everywhere else. We even had to get rid of the throw carpets in the living room and my bedroom because he wouldn't stop peeing on those as well. We should of gotten rid of him years ago but we just didn't and now we fear that if we do that he'll be put down because no one wants to adopt a cat that pees around the house. I need advice because I am sick of always cleaning up pee and the occasional poop. I need advice on how to stop him if there even is a way. We have tried everything that is recommended and he just won't stop. Any advice would be helpful.
