Need help with settings

I have an ebkarocy 400w, 48v ebike. I am aware of the thread on how to get to the settings, which I am able to access. With that being said, I've had this bike for just about 4 years now. Long story short at the end of the day just going to and from work I have put roughly 94,000 miles on it as it is my daily commuter for everything. It is basically my equivalent of a car.

Recently I'm pretty sure the motor started to die or at least the internal bearings need to be replaced or possibly the magnets need to be realigned but either way it started to grind and sometimes feel like it was scraping against something. At first I thought it was the brakes so I went through the entire process of literally replacing the entire brake system right from the cables to the calipers and the pads and the bolts holding them in. At the end of the day it turns out it was never the brakes that were the problem but the scraping was due to something internal with the motor that I could not see visually from the outside.

To fix the problem I have a spare motor on hand from another bike that was scrapped for parts because it was run over by a car. It works perfectly and fits perfectly so much so it scares the crap out of me. Because this never works out where I spend less than an hour working on this bike and everything goes perfect and right the first time around. So here lies my problem. The LCD no longer displays anything correctly. According to the speedometer I'm going 54 miles an hour. Which I would like that to be the case but I would probably need to change my pants afterwards. So I'm wondering if I perform a factory reset through the settings menu, will that fix the readings I am getting on the lcd? The motor I replaced it with is not from the same company or the same computer board. Or if I do perform a factory reset will that just make matters worse?

Edit: I fooled around the settings a bit and I wanted to know that when the motor was on the previous bike I could never get gear one to work or at least M 1. after going through the settings and changing the default setting for what the gear should default to when the bike turns off, and changed it to number one, gear one now works and it also appears that with gear 3 I'm going to end up going faster as my speedometer now says I'm going 60 miles an hour. on my way home from work I will make a note of what my speed says on Google maps. this should be very interesting.
