Notice needed for a PIP meeting

Lo and behold with the lovely work place going on.

Got an email today whilst both of us were on site (the boss and I 10am) stating a PIP meeting will be held tomorrow at 11am and being able to have a support person present.

I was lucky in some retrospect already sent a message last week stating tomorrow I’ll be having off.

In saying that, what notice is needed if any? Especially trying to get a support person with you.

Boss asking for contract part 3

Here’s previous part 1-2

https://www.reddit.com/r/AusLegal/s/N9USFYU2pQ

Well from the last week/fortnight, I’ve had to take the personal car to and from work/shed and just work around kids to daycare but still met 38 hours at the end of the week/s.

Anyway, had to drive 1.5 hours to work this morning and 1.5 home. Whilst at work, got sent this as the boss was onsite on his laptop.

“Performance Improvement Program

The meeting has been scheduled for 11am on the 14/05/2026 . X who supports the business as our external HR provider, will also be joining the meeting to help facilitate the discussion and support the process.
You are welcome to bring a support person with you to the meeting if you would like.”

Luckily enough, already in the process with Fair Work and replied with an email delaying the PIP due to availability of support person

Anything else I should know/do? This has procedure of termination written all over it.

YESTERDAY:

Small business but a bit of a rocky road at the moment. I have 500+ hours of annual leave, the boss is barely talking to me due to work related issues nor is responding to messages. (Even had a day off the other day but had to go to a customers house because he didn’t acknowledge any of the 6 messages and screenshots that the customer was going to be there and has driven from an hour away).

Last week out of the blue, he asked me to bring my contract to work (obviously lost his one), should I have been hesitant on this because of little to no communication with him?

UPDATE FOR TODAY:

Told to place contract at shed but instead I put it on his car seat (he was in touching distance and didn’t even look at me or say anything). I then sent a text message saying “contract is on your front seat in your Ute” followed by later in the afternoon “Hey mate, almost forgot to ask. What did you need that contract for?” And still no response.

Low and behold just about when work had finished, I received a message to have work vehicle back to shed and all toolboxes locked (mind you, toolboxes are filled with my tools)

Personal vehicle now has to be used to and from shed which is nothing more then an inconvenience if anything.

So yeh, let the good times roll I reckon
