Kawasaki vulcan 2004 So I just bought a motorcycle and need a new carburetor because a piece of the metal is chipped is there a way I could get the engine to stay on meanwhile I try to replace the carburetor like finding a temporary solution before I replacing it or even doing something to fix it without replacing

So I posted earlier but my bike would not crank it's been around 3 days went to go try it again it turned on but if I let it idle it'll turn off and it only idles if I release the choke when I bought it 85 had low gas maybe if I put some more it'll idle but also the carburetor got destroyed because someone previously add some air filters to it basically I'm asking would could be the issue and how to fix it
