Low AMH and normal AFC (aged 31) - anyone experienced?
Hey! My husband and I have been TTC for over a year now with no positive tests so I decided to get things checked out. The ultrasound confirmed an AFC of 18 but the blood work showed that my AMH is very low. I am so confused about what this means and my doctor couldn’t explain it either. She kept reiterating that I’m still young, but also started talking about IUI (even though she’s got no evidence that I don’t actually ovulate).
Her reaction honestly made me feel a bit like a freak because she said she was pretty shocked and confused, as I don’t fit into any of the categories of people who naturally have low AMH.
Has anyone else experienced this? How worried should I be about my AMH? It’s a bit of a slap in the face to have levels equivalent to someone at least 10 years older than me and I’ve been fretting ever since getting in the results.
