Need advice about c-section scar healing

Hello. I am currently 4weeks post partum after a C-section delivery. My c-section scar has started hurting since the last 2 weeks, and I can feel a thick and hard ridge just underneath the scar.. which didn't really exist maybe 1 week back. Any clue what this is, will it go?

If I want to check this out with a doctor, who do I meet? My gynecologist said everything was fine and there is no need for a further follow up at my 2 week checkup.

38+5 weeks, diet-controlled GDM, OB recommending elective C-section due to unengaged head + suspected macrosomia. Would you proceed or seek a second opinion?

I'm currently 38 weeks + 5 days with my first pregnancy. I have gestational diabetes that's been completely diet-controlled throughout pregnancy, with average blood sugar control.

My latest scan (38+5) showed:

Baby is head down (cephalic)

Estimated fetal weight: 3.69 kg (67th percentile)

Abdominal circumference: 81st percentile

BPD: 99th percentile

AFI: 14.7 cm (normal)

Dopplers: Normal

Biophysical profile: 8/8

At today's appointment, my OB examined me and said:

The baby's head is not fixed/engaged.

My cervix is soft.

She suspects the baby may be getting large (macrosomia), even though the ultrasound estimate is 3.69 kg.

She does not recommend induction, as she's concerned that with an unengaged head, if my waters break during induction there is a risk of cord prolapse.

She also feels there's a higher chance that induction would fail and I'd end up needing an emergency C-section anyway.

She mentioned that because of suspected macrosomia and GDM, she doesn't want me to continue beyond 39 weeks due to concerns about stillbirth risk, and therefore recommends an elective C-section.

I'm trying to understand whether this is the standard approach or whether induction would also be considered reasonable in this situation.
