Buying an agate amulet for my Syrian friend

My best friend and her family are from Syrian (living in the US) and I want to surprise her with an Amulet - from what i’ve read, they offer protection and grounding. Could anyone here help with
1: any more context or “rules” around this type of jewelry. she’s very big on spiritual practices
2; which of these two options is “better”
3: is there a specific type of chain they need to be worn with?
