so, as the title states, he keeps on peeing in the crate. We do have a personal dog trainer but she is off on vacation. We got him when he was 8 weeks.

we do think he made a habit of peeing on his bedding by doing this at the breeder. Right now we have an old bedding in the backjard where he pees on, and we have to make it smaller every day. (this was an assignment from our trainer) He sometimes lies in his pee. I do have the feeling that pooping goes well, and he clearly walks around and gives signals when he needs to go.

We were so obsessed with him peeing in the crate that we took him out with every whine to pee, placed him outside, nothing happend, placed him back, peed right away. Our trainder said that he now learned to whine and pee for attention, so we need to ignore him when he whines when he is stil in his window of 2 hours of sleep. He should be able to hold it for that time by now, and to not wait 10 min outside waiting for him to pee, if he had to go he would have peed. She also said it's then is own problem if he peed in his crate after that. but honsestly, i dont think he cares. Most of the times he wakes up, pees, and goes back to sleep without whining.

things we tried:

-we had a patch of fake grass where he peed on for the first weeks. he no longer sees it as his bathroom and just plays with it.

-make the crate smaller with boxes, he still peed and played with the boxes so we removed them.

-we use cleaning products that remove the odor and are save for puppies.

-wash his bedding every day.

-we have a bedding in the backjard he pees on that we have to cut smaller everyday

right now i have the feeling he will never be potty trained, and it just so frustrating.

Did someone here also ran into this problem? what did you do to help?
