Asus Tuf A14 appreciation post
This month, my Tuf A14 has turned 1 year old in my hands. Specs: r9 hx370, 4050, 32/3tb. Been using it in a sort of "hibrid" more, being both school and gaming laptop. I use it's battery every week for 1-3 days when i take it with me somewhere (meanwhile, i often charge it with my phone charger through usb c), other than that, it's plugged in all day, all night. Battery (schoolwork) mode usecase: editing multiple documents, spreadsheets at the same time, having multiple chrome windows open, using accounting, fixed assets registration program, administration managing programs and tax return programs, sometimes doing digital drawing (with usb or BT connected drawing device). (Edit: forgot to mention: i have a 73Wh battery.)
When on battery, i use the following settings: 5w cpu power limit, eco mode, fans turned off until 45°C (never reaches it, so it's always quiet), fHD with 60hz, sometimes with minimal keyboard light, windows best power efficiency, cpu boost off (obviously) and i have my charging limit at 70% (i sometimes forget to press the 'one time 100% button' so i usually go through my day with only 70% battery life). My battery degradation after 1 year of useage: somewhere between 8.7-9.1% (with regular hwinfo checks and 2 days of battery calibration, it still won't give me an exact number)
Just wanted to brag about my battery life, that's all.
I hope this post will find people who are doing research on this asus tuf a14 or any small laptop with a hx370 cpu in it. I hope this will help them make a purchase decision.
