Uber Eats in Sydney dead lately or is it just me?
Anyone else in Sydney seeing a massive drop in Uber Eats earnings lately?
For the last 2 months it’s been terrible for me. I work Eastern Suburbs, CBD and Western Suburbs, and now I struggle to make $30/h before expenses. Most orders I get average around $26–28/h, while before I could do $40/h pretty consistently, which honestly felt like the bare minimum.
The main issue seems to be a mix of long waiting times and badly paid orders. Bonuses are getting worse too. In 3 weeks I went from:
75 orders = $200
80 orders = $200
80 orders = $190
Before, focusing on quests, I could do 4–5 deliveries an hour. Now sometimes I average 2.6/h and barely finish the quests.
I also tried DoorDash. Slightly better pay per order, but almost no volume. I’ve literally waited 40 minutes in hotspots with zero orders.
My ratings are good (93%+ on Uber, Gold on DoorDash) and support says there’s nothing wrong with my account.
What confuses me is that some riders I spoke to still claim they make $40–50/h with bonuses. For me that’s impossible right now. Even with bonuses I barely touch 40$ before expenses.
Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just me?
