My Mom's Expanded Genetic Groups/ Migrations (+Historical Matches)

Hi All, I just recently posted my Dad's expanded Migrations and his Historical Matches via the promo deal currently running on 23andMe. I mentioned that I would post my Mom's once we had hers.

Well, it's definitely interesting right off the bat to say the least... some groups were not surprising, but some of the other Distant Matches were kind of a shock given the region where our family has lived for as long as anyone has ever seemed to have known about. And some of it confirms some suspicions I had, given some casual genealogy (more just searching records based off of names and tracing claimed birth places than anything else) I had done by myself a couple of years ago based on what my grandmother has told us when we asked about her and my maternal grandfather's sides of the family.

I am still trying to contemplate how my Mom's side of the family definitely moved around back and forth a lot more than I thought... And that they probably have my Dad's family beat in terms of how long they've been here in America (his arrived in 1732 Philadelphia at the earliest).

My Dad's Migrations and Historical Matches

I recently saw some posts talking about the recent promotion that 23andMe has going for upgrading nonpaid accounts to Premium. My Mom and Dad both recently (back in March at this point) tested, but we never got them the Premium accounts as I already have premium for myself (and it was a bit more than we wanted to pay for three separate accounts). And they were only slightly interested enough to test and see how their results would compare to AncestryDNA (which we'd all taken years ago).

I've so far had my Dad's account upgraded (via this promo), and the additional information has proved quite interesting thus far (the first few pics). And confirmed some anomalies with Historical Matches and Migrations that I have in my own results (the last few pics), things I was not able to see (he has Very Close and Close Migration matches that were already quite interesting to begin with but was curious about potentially hidden Distant Migrations) that I can now confirm came from his side (the strange Harrison and Floyd Counties one that we both seem to share as Distant matches).

My Mom's results are just as interesting to me currently, but I don't have her upgraded Migrations and Historical Matches just yet. I'll create a post for that once we get around to it.
