What do you think about poster and banner culture ?

Dear thamizh naatu makkaley,

I have been noticing the poster on walls, banner and pamphlets sharing in public a lot since childhood.

All these including wall paintings are a way to advertise and market the brand presence . It could be political or business advert.

I feel this leads to lot of mess both to nature in particular and also visually .
All these papers are mostly torn and ended up in garbage bins or eaten by animals.

Especially I see this is exploited more by political parties.

Can this be changed ? Don’t you think this needs to be regulated ?

Maybe bring in more billboards and digital display and allow them to advertise rather than posting as they like anywhere.

To be honest , I thought this would change with Mr.Vijay coming in and his party would do it in other way.
Given that Mr. Vijay has travelled very well and would have observed the public infra and the overall hierarchy of how foreign govt works.
Guess what ? It’s the same , they’re doing the same as how earlier parties did .

This is up for discussion. Add more points and share Knowledge around this .

- how does this affect environment , peoples opinion and the economy? ( if so)
- ways to regulate and handle this.
- current govt policy or laws for advertising ? ( explain if you know any )
- examples of how political advertising happens in other countries ? ( I believe it’s the same across India )
For eg: I’ve been to few countries abroad and I never saw any of this political advertisement or unregulated advertisement wherever I’ve been.

Everyone is welcome , to share your knowledge , discuss and share opinions .

From brisk walk to interval running - am I doing it right ?

I started waking up early and decided to become more active, so I chose running. I could already walk 3.5–4 km comfortably, so I initially planned to brisk walk 4 km daily. I use the walking track inside my apartment complex (roughly 390 m per lap).

Week 1:
Started with 10 rounds, then improved to 15–16 rounds, totaling around 5.5 km.
(7 days/week — ~58 mins/session)

Week 2:
Added running in round 15, later also in round 8.
(5 days/week — ~53 mins/session)

Week 3:
Included running in round 12, later round 8 as well.
(5 days/week — ~53 mins/session)

Issues faced:

- Blisters near the back of the ankle
- Shin pain

From YouTube videos, I understood that continuous running isn’t necessary initially and that the body needs recovery.

Week 4:
Started running from round 5 onward.
(Alternate days — 3/4 days per week)
Same total time (~53 mins), but walking pace became slower because of the running.

Week 5:
1-2-3-4-5 walk
6-7 run
8-9 walk
10-11 run
12-13 walk
14-15 run
16 walk

(Same schedule as Week 4)

Week 6:
1-2-3-4-5 walk
6-7-8 run
9-10 walk
11-12-13 run
14-15 walk
16 run

(Alternate days — 3/4 days per week, ~51 mins/session)

Lost 1.8 kg during this period. I make sure I don’t feel exhausted after sessions, though I sweat heavily during interval runs.

Running pace: ~8:30–9:00 min/km
Walking pace: ~11:00 min/km

Week 7:
No running due to travel.
Gained back the weight I lost 🤦🏻‍♂️ plus 1 extra kg.

Week 8:
1-2-3 walk
4-5-6-7 run
8-9 walk
10-11 run
(Unable to extend the second run section to 4 continuous rounds yet- getting tired so I walk)

This is my progress so far .

I have no plans to participate in races right now. I just want my body to comfortably run continuously because I genuinely enjoy it. My goal is to someday run 5K nonstop and then maybe improve timing. Later I’ll improve distance as I progress.

I’m 32M, 77.6 kg. I always run empty stomach .

Shoes:

- Nike Downshifter (2022 model — basic running shoe)
- ASICS trail running shoes (more comfortable due to the cushioning/gel)

Questions:

- Is my progress and plan okay?
- Should I change anything to improve performance?
- Any beginner advice or inputs

Any inputs are much appreciated,

Thanks.
