MD with stimming

Hi folks,

Wondering whether anyone also faces the same thing as me.

Essentially MD with a lot of stimming (hands flapping, scratcching the back of head, rubbing of my hands - when the excistment builds).

Interesting to hear some coping mechanisms. I have gone through this since childhood without ever really knowing what it was.

Hi all,

My wife's spouse visa (Standard) is due to expire on the 29th August 2026. The visa initally started on the 29th November 2023. The length of the visa is therefore 33 months or 2 years and 9 months as she applied from outside the U.K. . The new (renewed/extended) visa is meant to be 2 years and 6 months and afterwards she will be applying for indefinte leave to remain (5 years).

After a long time of searching for jobs, she is due to start her first job on the 1st July 2026 on a 6 month contract initally. However the employer has requested her to renew her visa before her start date.

This is proving to be tricky as I just contaced a lawyer who insisted that we cannot apply for the renewal/ extension until 28 days before her current visa expiry, so essentially the 2nd of August 2026 is when we can apply the earliest. But I don't understand this, as even if we apply say 2.5 months early say mid June - she will still be over the 5 year time limit needed to apply for the indefiniate leave to remain?

I am very confused - ideally if we can apply early and get sometime to her employer before her start date that would be great (even if it's a letter saying that she has applied). However the lawyer is insisting we cannot apply any earlier than 28 days before the expiry.

Any help will be much appreicated.
