Looking for Feb 2027 CFA Level 3 Study Circle (Max 4 People - Serious Applicants Only)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently gearing up for the CFA Level 3 exam in February 2027 and looking to connect with a few like-minded, highly driven individuals to form a tight-knit study circle.

Level 3 is a different beast altogether, especially with the portfolio management focus and the essay format, so I want to build a small group where we can actively keep each other accountable, talk through complex concepts, and share resources.

How this group will work:

  • Strict Cap: Maximum of 4 people total (including me). Smaller groups mean fewer distractions and higher-quality discussion.
  • Moderated Structure: I will be actively moderating the group to ensure we stay on track, stick to a consistent schedule, and actually get value out of our sessions.
  • Serious Inquiries Only: Please only reach out if you are 100% committed to passing this on the first attempt, plan to follow a disciplined study timeline, and are willing to actively contribute to the group. No ghosting or passive observers.

If you’re registered for the Feb 2027 window and want to crush this final milestone together, hit me up in the DMs.

Let me know a brief bit about your background, your target study start date, and what your general prep strategy is looking like. Let's finish the fight!

6 Months to Level 3: Seeking the "Battle-Tested" Study Order & Roadmap

Hi everyone,

I’m officially kicking off my 6-month countdown for the CFA Level 3 exam. After the grind of Level 2 couple of years ago. I know L3 is a different beast less about "crunching the numbers" and more about "thinking like a PM" and mastering the constructive response (essay) format.

I want to build a rock-solid roadmap and would love to hear from those who have already cleared it.

1. The Order of Attack: What’s the most logical sequence? I’ve heard some say start with Portfolio Management and Asset Allocation since they are the "core" of the curriculum, while others suggest hitting Fixed Income or Derivatives early because of their technical depth. What worked for you?

2. The 6-Month Roadmap (Mental Check):

  • Months 1-4: First pass of the curriculum + EOC questions.
  • Month 5: Deep dive into "blue box" examples and the CFAI QBank.
  • Month 6: Mocks, Ethics, and refining the "bullet point" essay style.
  • Does this feel balanced, or should I be doing mocks/writing practice much earlier?

3. The Do’s and Don’ts:

  • DO: What is the one resource or habit that actually moved the needle? (e.g., Bill Campbell mocks, Mark Meldrum, or just pure CFAI text?)
  • DON'T: What is a common "trap" people fall into at L3? (e.g., over-studying calculations, writing too much in the essay portion, etc.)

For those who’ve crossed the finish line, how would you structure these 180 days if you had to do it all over again?

Appreciate any insights, schedules, or "if I knew then what I know now" advice!
