I ran into someone I know (and quite like) today while they were waiting on their friends to finish buying something at the store. She seemed genuinely happy to see me and came over to talk about a new hobby project she was working on. She was excited to talk about it (we chatted for a minute) and she went into how some parts of it were hard to crack. I asked “Yeah, how would you figure that out?” She paused, scratched her neck, said ‘yeah…,’ and went blank for a second, and then left abruptly. It seemed really awkward
I was anxious because I fancy them and was surprised to see them, so part of me wonders if I came across as awkward or hesitant somehow. I wasn’t too eager, nor do I think I said anything especially strange or weird. My friends think what I said was fine and that it was internal on their part.
So why might someone react like that?
