Tonsil pain / cancer scare

hi ! i (17 year old female) have been experiencing on and off tonsil pain for about 3 months now. there have been 3 majors incidents :

  1. about three months ago, i developed a sore throat / sore tonsils. I tested negative for strep and after a few days it completely went away. Id like to note that the person i was dating at the time did nit get sick despite excessive contact.

  2. About two weeks ago i got tonsil irritation that progressed slowly into a full illness. I got tested for strep 3 days into the pain and tested negative. Over night, my tonsils grew large white spots, became VERY painful and i got a high fever. I went to urgent care and without testing me for strep, they prescribed me with **Amoxicillin 875 mg for ten days.** My symptoms went away after two days. Id like to also make it a point that at the start of my sickness i was kissing and sharing food (spoons, forks, straws) with my boyfriend and he did not get sick at all.

  3. about a week after i finished antibiotics, i started smoking cigarettes again (something ive done regularly for about a year now.) immediately after smoking, i started to develop sore tonsils, specifically on my right side that has quickly, day by day, developed into a full bacterial infection. I tested negative for strep again, my right tonsil and right lymph node are severely swollen and swallowing, even talking has became extremely painful. A nurse told me that my throat is being semi blocked by my right tonsil. I just got prescribed for another antibiotic but i am nervous. Once again i have been sharing straws, spoons and kissing my boyfriend and he hasnt gotten sick at all.

I have been googling my symptoms all night and everything keeps pointing to cancer. Is this something i should be worried about? Do these symptoms point to cancer? Or is this second wave of infection related to cigarette smoking with not fully healed tonsils? Or is this unrelated to smoking?

I asked the nurse who checked me out about it and have asked family and they laugh --- or even scoff / get angry at me for suggesting i possibly have cancer in my tonsils and tell me im crazy. Do i have ground to say that this could be a possibility i need to look out for? I have very bad medical anxiety and i have felt sick all afternoon.
