STUDIO OWNERS!

To all fellow studio owners using ClassPass, I hope we can talk about this openly.
We all started our studios because we believed in what we were building. We invested so much — our savings, time, equipment, rent, staff, instructors, and countless hours behind the scenes just to create a space where people can move, feel better, and take care of themselves.
And I think sometimes, as small studio owners, we forget that our prices have a reason.
Our rates aren’t just a number. They reflect our operating costs, our instructors’ time and expertise, our equipment, our space, and the quality of experience we want to give every client.
That’s why I believe that when a studio updates its regular rates, ClassPass should also review and recalculate the credit value of that studio’s classes.
I recently looked at our own class through the client’s perspective, and I was surprised to see how many credits our class was listed for. It made me realize how important it is for us as studio owners to actually check how our pricing is being represented on the platform.
I’m not against ClassPass. In fact, I believe it can be a great platform for helping people discover our studios and introducing us to new clients.
But I also believe there should be a fair balance.
If our costs and official rates change, the ClassPass pricing should have the opportunity to change with them.
So I want to encourage fellow studio owners: if you have recently increased your rates, please reach out to your ClassPass representative and ask them to review and redo your credit pricing based on your current rates.
And if you haven’t checked your listing from the client’s side recently, maybe this is a good time to do so.
We don’t have to be confrontational. We simply need to communicate clearly and advocate for the value of our businesses.
Because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing:
To make wellness more accessible to clients while still making sure that the people and businesses providing that wellness are valued fairly.
If more studio owners speak up respectfully and consistently, maybe we can encourage ClassPass to create a system that works better for both studios and clients.
I’d genuinely love to hear from other studio owners —
Have you asked ClassPass to review your credits after increasing your rates? What was your experience?
