BASI Student Looking for Teaching Opportunities

Hello everyone! I’ll be taking my BASI Comprehensive Global Program soon and would love to hear from studio owners or BASI graduates.
Do studios usually take on BASI students who are still completing their teaching hours? I’m hoping to find a studio where I can gain hands-on teaching experience while completing my hours and working toward certification.
My focus right now is to teach, continue my own training, and build a strong foundation before eventually opening my own studio in the future.
Would love to hear your experiences!

Pilates newbie

Hi, I've been wanting to try pilates but I'm really clumsy and a total beginner. There's a newly opened studio near me - Espace Wellness Hub and I'm eyeing their promo package.

Any tips for someone who has zero knowledge?

What clothes to wear, what I should be ready with before a class etc.

Lf reco home pilates youtube channel for beginners

Hi! I really wanted to try pilates, but currently can't afford the 1 on 1 session and im not confident pa to join group sessions (as a 1st timer).

That's why, gusto ko muna mag DIY sa bahay for practice lol and it's been a while since my last exercise so di ko talaga kaya makipagsabayan sa group classes.

Would appreciate your reco pilates at home youtube vids / channels for beginners. Ty!

Hot yoga/pilates mat recos for sweaty hands + sensitive knees? 🧘‍♀️

Hi! Does anyone have a yoga mat they absolutely swear by for hot yoga or hot Pilates?

I currently have a Stakt mat and LOVE how grippy and cushioned it is, especially on my knees, but I find it sooo bulky and awkward to carry around 😭 I’m thinking of selling it and switching to a regular roll-up mat.

My non-negotiables are:

  • Super non-slip even when really sweaty
  • Good cushioning for the knees (ideally around 5mm)
  • Easy to carry with a normal mat strap/bag

Any holy grail mats? 🤍

Can you see visible Pilates results with only 1 class a week? And how do you track progress?

Hi everyone! 😊 I recently started getting into Pilates and I’m wondering how you guys monitor your progress.

For those who do Pilates regularly:

  • What’s the best way to track progress aside from weight/measurements?
  • Do you take progress photos, track flexibility/strength, note how exercises feel, etc.?
  • And realistically, can you see visible changes from Pilates if you only do it once a week?

I currently do strength training during the week, so Pilates would more likely be an additional once-a-week thing for me. I actually feel like Pilates could also help improve my strength training because of all the cues the instructor gives during class things like proper alignment, bracing the core, breathing, controlling the movement, and being more aware of which muscles I’m actually using.

I’m mainly interested in improving my core strength, posture, mobility, and getting a more toned/“long and lean” look.

Would love to hear from anyone who started with just 1x/week and what kind of changes you noticed and how long it took! 💗

Cadillac Pilates

Hello! I have been going to pilates classes albeit quite inconsistently 😅 But I work out (strength training) 2-3x a week.

The previous studios I’ve been in don’t have any cadillacs and I’ve been so curious to try it!

Do you know of any studios in Parañaque, Alabang, or Makati area who offer Cadillac Pilates classes?

Tyia! 🧡

Pilates Instructor

Hello! I’m a Pilates instructor based in the Philippines, and I would like to ask my fellow Pilates instructors: How many classes do you usually teach per day? What is the maximum number of classes you teach per week? And how much do you earn from it?

I’m currently teaching 40 classes per week, but I feel like it might be too much for me. I’d like to know what would be a reasonable number of classes to consider before I discuss this with my employer. Thank you!

Edit: I teach mat and Reformer Pilates (private and group class)

New Pilates Instructor concern for special populations and modifications

I am a newly certified instructor of Pilates. We learn a LOT in our 500 hours of training, but I am afraid of not supporting my special populations clients strongly enough.

For example if someone comes in with a herniated disk or a hip replacement or something else that is common….i fear I won’t recall the information to allow and provide proper modifications! Especially when I have a full room.

I’ve considered keeping a notebook of reminders or a list on my phone. Any thoughts?

I do feel with time this because second nature but I’m so scared of someone getting hurt.

STOTT Pilates Mat Certification only?

Hello, friends!

Anyone here who trained with STOTT pero decided to focus fully on the mat alone? How's the journey like? Do you skip the reformer before you get your Level 1 certification? If yes, did you proceed with Level 2 Matwork before getting fully certified in mat alone?

Planning to teach cause I fell in love with Pilates, but I'd like to focus on the mat for accessibility and I also have a full-time job that I equally love.

Thank you! 🙏🏼

How do you guys feel about "graveyard shift" (mat) pilates classes?

Hi! This is kind of a survey lang of sorts. This one's especially for the fitness enthusiasts whose work schedules are alanganin so hindi sila nakakaabot sa usual scheduled classes of studios :)

What do you guys think about mat pilates / hot yoga / barre classes that are held super late in the evening? I'm talking between 10 PM - 6 AM fitness classes haha i'm finishing up some fitness certifications and I was thinking maybe I can cater to the nocturnal pilates princesses in Metro Manila. Ako kasi mismo I have an unpredictable work schedule (it's mostly night shift though). As much as i want to attend group classes in-studio, hindi talaga aabot minsan.

I'm trying to see lang if may market kaya ako if i decide to offer later than usual classes in the future. Any thoughts?

Anyone familiar on Integrated Body Arts Studio Rates & Details?

Hi. I've always been interested to try classical pilates and had been wanting to try IBA. However, I have been trying to reach out but no feedback from them. Are there any who can share their overall experience with IBA in Makati?

Gym work out for Pilates practitioners

To fellow Pilates practitioners— what gym work outs do you do to improve your strength? I’m good on leg and core strength but feel like my form falters after a while when it comes to arms/ shoulders/ chest. Admittedly I mostly focus on glutes and abs when going to the gym so would appreciate any tips and guidance about helpful upper body work outs from those who practice. TYIA!

STUDIO OWNERS!

To all fellow studio owners using ClassPass, I hope we can talk about this openly.
We all started our studios because we believed in what we were building. We invested so much — our savings, time, equipment, rent, staff, instructors, and countless hours behind the scenes just to create a space where people can move, feel better, and take care of themselves.
And I think sometimes, as small studio owners, we forget that our prices have a reason.
Our rates aren’t just a number. They reflect our operating costs, our instructors’ time and expertise, our equipment, our space, and the quality of experience we want to give every client.
That’s why I believe that when a studio updates its regular rates, ClassPass should also review and recalculate the credit value of that studio’s classes.
I recently looked at our own class through the client’s perspective, and I was surprised to see how many credits our class was listed for. It made me realize how important it is for us as studio owners to actually check how our pricing is being represented on the platform.
I’m not against ClassPass. In fact, I believe it can be a great platform for helping people discover our studios and introducing us to new clients.
But I also believe there should be a fair balance.
If our costs and official rates change, the ClassPass pricing should have the opportunity to change with them.
So I want to encourage fellow studio owners: if you have recently increased your rates, please reach out to your ClassPass representative and ask them to review and redo your credit pricing based on your current rates.
And if you haven’t checked your listing from the client’s side recently, maybe this is a good time to do so.
We don’t have to be confrontational. We simply need to communicate clearly and advocate for the value of our businesses.
Because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing:
To make wellness more accessible to clients while still making sure that the people and businesses providing that wellness are valued fairly.
If more studio owners speak up respectfully and consistently, maybe we can encourage ClassPass to create a system that works better for both studios and clients.
I’d genuinely love to hear from other studio owners —
Have you asked ClassPass to review your credits after increasing your rates? What was your experience?

SCOOP PILATES

I’m exploring studios around San Juan Greenhills and Ortigas Pasig. Already tried The Body Lab, Sense Studios and Cafe, and Connect Pilates.

Next on my list is Scoop Pilates at Opus Mall. Do they do classical pilates or contemporary pilates, cos I prefer the latter part..

Any thoughts? Thank you! 🫶🏻
