Republic of Freedonia Navy and Naval Aviation at the onset of the 5 Day War with South Torbia, 2026

Freedonian and South Torbian relations had been gradually deteriorating since the Freedonian junta seized power in a coup in 2011. In November 2025, Lao Yi offshore drilling and aggressive naval exercises had violated South Torbian freedom of the seas since 2013 but things came to a head in April 2nd, 2026 after a South Torbian fishing boat was blown out of the water by cannon fire from a Freedonian Rafale. A day later, the two nations were at war with the STAF launching air strikes with the objective of destroying the Freedonian oil platforms and any forces in their way.
