Tapes

How much of what we're hearing on this tour is being played live by the musicians on stage? I've seen enough from watching both Coachella shows live to watching the Colbert performance to convince me much of the drums, bass, and keys are pre-recorded.

Bravado on Different Stages. Damn.

Do fans talk about this song? So good. Two minutes longer on the live record than the studio version, which is also great. Yup, just discovered this song. It could almost be an 80s Heart hit with the pretty chords and vocals and kind of conventional lyrics. I'd love more of this vibe from Rush, though I like all their vibes.

The anticipation of a new record has me looking back at the most recent ones - TOSOMB and Marauder. I've repped the last track on the latter before and must do so again.

I characterize it as the closest we've gotten to Interpol doing soul or R&B - the verse and chorus music and vocals for some reason bring those genres to mind.

Then there's the section right after the chorus ("By the seaside...") which sounds a little like eerie space rock.

Anyway, I've only heard one or two anons ever mention this song and I think it's a great anomaly for them and a direction they could pursue to great success if they wanted to leave their lane a bit more.

Bottom line: Wish they'd perform it and write more like it.
