Random, non-reproducible micro-stutters/hitches either minutes apart or 20 to 40 minutes apart. There is no consistency to when they happen across Overwatch, Battlefield, and other games. FPS is locked at 138 with G-Sync and V-Sync on in the Nvidia Control Panel, though I have also tested with both off. Hitches occur with noticeable frametime spikes, sometimes in heavy moments or even when nothing is happening. Frame drops aren't even that low; it is just the sudden pause or hitch that is off-putting. Interestingly, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Resident Evil 9 run practically flawlessly, just to name a few.
Specs:
CPU: 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 5080 (Directly on MOBO)
RAM: 32GB 6000MHz CL30
MOBO: Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX (Latest BIOS)
SSD: Gen 4 NVMe (Primary)
Network: Fibre + New Modem + New Ethernet Cable
Troubleshooting already done (No Fix):
- Hardware Baseline: Tested with CPU at stock (no PBO), RAM at JEDEC 4800MHz (no EXPO), and GPU with no overclock.
- Storage: Games are on a Gen 4 NVMe SSD.
- BIOS: iGPU disabled, Global C-States tried both on and off, Memory Context Restore and Power Down Enable both disabled to allow memory to train on every boot.
- Windows 11: Memory Integrity off and on, MPO disabled, HAGS off and on, Game Mode off and on.
- Drivers: DDU'd and tried multiple GPU driver versions, Nvidia Power set to "Max Performance," Shader Cache set to "Unlimited."
- USB/Peripherals: Mouse at 500Hz/1000Hz and uninstalled software.
- Background: Zero bloat. SignalRGB, Gigabyte Control Centre, and nothing needlessly running. Also tested completely without MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner with no difference.
- Network: Upgraded to a new modem and high-quality Ethernet cable on fibre; DHCP lease set to 24h to try and rule out packet loss, though ping is very low.
The PC is only a month old and was set up with a fresh Windows install. I am tearing my hair out as to what it could possibly be, or if it is simply bad game code and engine shaders just being AAAA development.
If anyone has any ideas as to what it could be id really appreciate the input thanks. Video shows a few clips of what i mean.
