How reflective is the fertility rate of your social circle (family/ friends/ coworkers/ peers) to the fertility rate of your country?
I'm Indian, mid-30s. The fertility rate is 1.9 and falling.
If I were to talk about my friends from school and college, approx. a third are unmarried. Around half of the married ones don't have kids. And most of the ones who do have just one. Only a couple have two, and I don't think I know a single person in my age group with three or more children.
The fertility rate would probably be Thailand/ South Korea level, if someone did the math.
What's it like for you guys?
