I order a lot of things from Amazon, in a lot of different categories, and I've noticed a disturbing trend. I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed this too.
I'm a Prime customer. What I notice is if I order food, clothes, art supplies, electronics or useless crap, the shipping estimates are more likely to be honored.
However if I order tools, drill bits, hinges, chisels, other fasteners, etc, the shipping estimates are much more likely to be off, late, or sometimes simply lost. They are also more likely to be routed through states in the opposite direction from me.
So has anyone else seen this trend or have any insight? I'd love to know the cause.
