So this might be a bit of a weird question but how does everyone learn how to defend a site? For example, lets take Chalet and say I want to play Kitchen/Dining. If i haven't really played that site before how would I know where to reinforce, when to play upstairs, etc.

I feel like there isn't any sort of online resource for this thing and, if there is, I might just not be able to find it.

Thank you in advance for any advice or tips.

Edit: This isn't just about Chalet specifically. it was just the best example I could find.
