Is my aim cooked?

I’ve been gettin back into siege and I’ve been getting FLAMED by both my irl friends and randoms for my aim. How can I improve/warm up faster?I feel like I’m stagnating since I came back to the game

Should I use the walk button more often ? Or is that dumb

I’m new to the game about a week in and I see conflicting takes on This matter .. should I be using the walk button to make my footstep sound lower? Or is that not really making a difference i find my self using it a lot trying to “hide” my steps but i see a lot of videos saying is pointless .. so from your experience does it work?

Tips for pushing to champ from diamond 3?

I am currently d3 on console, with my absolute peak being diamond 2 with 70 rp from a couple seasons ago. Looking for any tips or advice to hit champ within the last week or so of the season. I’m gaining decent profit with +23 from my last few matches won, and my win/loss is 1.2, so I’m sure I can hit champ as long as I keep winning consistently enough. I have solo queued for around 80 of 125 matches and I’m planning on keeping it mostly solo for the rest of the matches I play. I always play support and anchor on site on defense, and I’ll play flex on attack. Any feedback will help on the rest of the journey for champ.

Tips and hacks for those who want to improve?

Hey everyone, how's it going? I'd like to ask for some tips and hear from you guys about how you play!

1 - I use a 2560 x 1080 monitor, would a 4:3 resolution really be the best in this case?

2 - How do they train their aim? Not recoil, but hitting headshots and the target.

3 - How do you guys strafe? I'm having trouble because of the "q" and "e" characters; they don't seem to be the best options for it.

“Best” FOV?

Hello all, I am running 90 FOV and have been for a while. I’m just curious is there an overall general consensus for what the best FOV is? I’m looking to dial in my settings to start making an emerald push. Currently plat 2 with a 1.3KD

Why does everyone use holo A instead of red dot A?

I’ve been playing siege on and off since 2018, and this is a question I’ve always had in the back of my mind but never thought to ask. Whenever I can’t get an ACOG on a gun, I always use red dot A. It just seems like the simplest option to me. But every single game, it feels like everyone else is using holo A instead. I’ve also seen this in the pro scene as well. I would assume red dot A is best because it’s just a single dot in the middle with nothing else taking up visual space in the scope. At first I thought it was just preference, but it seems like literally everyone in the world besides me is using holo A, so what am I missing?

Have you ever had a break through where it improves your gameplay drastically? Type of break through that makes you move up a whole rank? If so, what was it?

My personal experience of small break throughs
Copper to bronze: basic map knowledge
Bronze to silver: more awareness when choosing ops
Silver to gold: improved mechanics was key for me, shooting range
Gold to plat: have 2 comfortable attack routes and for every map. Use all your utility before you die (still working on that). Use intel to aggressively take map control without swinging into a room blindly (also working on that)

What’s your experience?

Sensitivity problems

I’m having a hard time figuring out my sensitivity on PC for Rainbow Six Siege. I see people run like 56 for 1.0x and around 65 for 2.5x, but mine is way higher because I feel like it helps me with recoil.
Right now my settings are:
Horizontal: 8
Vertical: 8
1.0x ADS: 109
2.5x ADS: 156
The reason I have my ADS so high is because I have a hard time pulling my mouse down enough for recoil control. When my sensitivity is lower, I feel like I have to drag my mouse down a lot, and then I end up overcorrecting.
I know my ADS sens is probably really high compared to most people, but it feels like it helps me keep guns down. At the same time, I feel like it might be making my aim less consistent, especially because small movements can turn into big corrections.
I’ve also tried messing with the mouse sensitivity multiplier, but I honestly don’t really understand how it works. I know it changes how the sensitivity feels, but I don’t know if I should leave it default or change it to something like 0.002 or 0.001. That part confuses me because I don’t know if changing the multiplier is actually helping me, or if it’s just making my sensitivity harder to understand.

I’m mainly trying to find a setup that helps me control recoil without making my aim feel super twitchy or inconsistent. Any advice would help.

I’m a 1.6 emerald, but I feel like sensitivity is a problem for me

Is there a link or somewhere I can find all the maps with bomb locations?

I just started playing the game a few months ago with a group of guys who have been playing the game since Siege was released. I don't understand 80% of their call outs. 😅

I was hoping to find some clear map layouts with the different bomb site options so I can study up on their strategies for each location/ bomb position

Also, I'll take ANY tips you want to throw my way as well! Right now for the attack side I've been limiting myself to Thermite/ Lion/ Finka.. occasionally Gridlock or Grim.

For defending I mostly play Thorn or Lesion when Thorn is banned. Sometimes I choose Rook or Doc, and I just tried Frost for the first time last night.

Thank you!!

Why do people in low elo love to ban Fuze/Brava?

In basically every ranked match I play, at the bare minimum one of these two gets banned. We're not banning Thatcher, Dokkaebi, Solid Snake, no we have to ban 2 random operators that aren't even a direct threat no matter the lineup.

These guys ban Brava just to not play Echo, Kapkan, Maestro etc. rendering the ban useless when we could've banned someone who, if picked, could be way more threatening to us.

And Fuze isn't even a massive threat. You can hear it being prepped and get out of harm's way in time. Maybe it makes sense if we won the previous round on 2F and are now playing 1F/B and we wanna protect the Kaid/Bandits on the main wall but we could better utilize the ban and have someone play above to stop any vert play.

Anyone else experiences this in their games?

Why do Pros sometimes use Blitz instead of Blackbeard?

BIG CLARIFICATION, since apparently I have to make these things abundantly clear before asking a simple question. I am not slandering pro player decisions. I am not slamming Blitz. I am asking to expand my knowledge.

With that out of the way, I used to think Blitz wasn't all that good, because of wonky shield hit boxes and the inconsistency of his flash beyond extremely close distance, but this year I saw a TON of play with him in Pro play. *So obviously I am missing something.* When it comes to disrupting defender positioning, I thought BB and his grenades could accomplish the same goal with a teammate in tow. Course I then considered the fact that a lot of pro play is done on LAN, which probably makes shields more consistent.

So what's the true answer here? And was I wrong about Cav being bad too? XD

Ranked 3.0 Initial Placement

Will getting a higher rank this season (s2) affect my rank / placement matches in any way next season (s3)? Basically are we all going to start off on a clean slate or not?

ADS

So I’ve been playing siege on PC for about a month and a half now after swapping from Xbox and I’ve been trying to get my recoil down better. I see that a lot of people use a multiplier of 0.00223 but I don’t understand how people are even able to turn with such slow sens. I’ve also had my ads sensitivity somewhat higher but the recoil gets a little bit shaky at times. I’m just confused at this point as to whether or not I’m doing something wrong. For context I play on 1600 DPI, 25-25, and 1.0x at 60 and 2.5x at 87 on 0.02 multiplier

Can someone explain like I’m 5 the (controller) ads sensitivity values?

Just getting back into R6S after a few years. I’m on PS5 for context. If I want my aim down sights sensitivity to “feel” the same across all scope magnifications what should I set the values to? Leave it at the default 50?

For example there’s a setting in battlefield called “uniform soldier aiming.” It helps with muscle memory by helping the ads speed feel the same across all magnifications. Is there a rule of thumb to achieve this in siege?
