How do people become consistently good?

I just got back into the game like 3 weeks ago, went from gold 5 to emerald 5 solo queue in around 200 games, i just cant seem to become consistently good when it comes to getting kills, most games ill go 4-5 5-5 or something around a 1.0 kd, how do people get to the point where they are hard carrying every game? I have good mechs i just think my game sense isnt there enough to use that to its full effect. please give me any tips

Looking to get back into the game again after not playing for years, any recommendations on who to play?

Honestly I used to play a lot but even then I wasn’t the best. I quit years ago mainly due to the toxicity of the player base. A friend however recently recommended that I just play because I do enjoy the game so much and just mute/block the toxic players.

What are some returning player friendly operators so I can try to get back into the swing of things? If you could recommend someone to watch to try and help that would be awesome too.

Want feedback on recent update

How good was the Operation Split Fire Revealed update. It dropped on aug the 16, it addressed a couple of things noor for instance along with legend division and let's not forget about the villa map as well.

3 questions for you Guys you can explain further if you would like

  1. Was noor or villa something people actually wanted?

  2. How's the reaction been so far !

  3. Anything buffed/nerfed causing people to play different ?

(we're a small website that post reviews for updates we would love to give the six siege community a louder voice !)

For what reason should I be running max FOV?

I’ve not played siege sober since like zero came out and mostly sub 10 games a season and only ever grinded rank in wind bastion which was also my first season so idk shit especially things that are current. I started on ps4 but swapped to pc after a few weeks so I just went 90 fov because u couldn’t on console and it seemed cool. Now that I’m playing again and I’ve spend however much time playing other fps games and doing a ridiculous amount of setting customization I’m in that phase for siege and FOV is a setting there’s not a lot of information about that doesn’t presume the conclusion.

Rn I play 84 FOV 4:3 because I play 4:3 in everything and I pick a pro to copy settings from as a starting point, I picked shaiiko cause he’s one of maybe 3 I can name and his settings matched what I like the most out of him beaulo and canadian. I’ve started trying out diff FOV as ever since laptop broke and got new cheap monitor seeing things is harder, also been doing a lot of nvidia control oanel display settings testing.

Playing on 60 FOV feels not good it is too narrow and I very much feel the negatives of less peripheral vision while also feeling like acog is unusable, and 4:3 also makes this more extreme. However I don’t like the acog anyway, I see the value but it’s less versatile and high speed. 90 FOV 16:9 acog is good but I actually can’t see shit with the 1x and it feels like playing tf2. 75 FOV feels great but havent spent much time testing it and I don’t believe in it enough to just trust my lived experience of enjoying it because it makes the rewarding part of the game easier and the negatives are in things less noticed like awareness.

Basically is it reasonable for me to lower FOV out of personal preference and to what extent am I disadvantaging myself for the subjective benefit? I do not care about full optimization because I don’t even want to be champ level, I’m not dedicated to practicing and learning the game. Maybe seems conflicting with thinking about FOV this much but personalizing settings is something I enjoy more than even ranking up and I usually try to find a tactic/playstyle that is very simple, doesn’t require coordination, doesn’t fuck with my teams set ups and doesn’t fall apart completely if I’m autopiloting. In siege before it used to be thermite main wall, go somewhere else to entry and apply pressure from a diffwrent direction and bandit trick on defense. All I did was play for the wall but it’s not that simple anymore and people actually pick those ops now.

My hope is that the downsides of FOV aren’t too extreme and I can go 1x/irons only building a playstyle around shorter range engagements with FOV making the longer range ones less disadvantaged. Maybe Mozzie defense idk attack maybe nomad or iana, jackal also has c7 and isn’t banned anymore so I fw that. But being a peak plat 3 at 3202 mmr and that being years ago I don’t wanna figure out the hard way this is more of doing a challenge than a playstyle.

Dokk SMG-12 + DMR loadout after the nerfs

How viable do you think the OG loadout is going to be after the nerfs go live? Or is it just Ubisoft forcing people to play her AR + breaching for the hatches?

Questions to better my game play

I am Plat 2 currently, was one game off emerald but my gun fighting skills and getting toxic teammates in the R6 server is screwing with me.

1: when to comes various machine guns and submachine guns ( like Zeros main gun the MP7), should i try not to engage targets which are far away say 15 meters away? I ask because when it comes to machine guns and submachine guns with various recoils I loose a lot of gun fights due to not being able to control the recoil when it comes to farther distances whether on defense or or attack unless my cross hair lines up with their body by luck for the first shot or two and then no more shots hit since the recoil for a target at that distance is hard to control. I take it the best option is to not engage or close the distance unless there is something i can do about perfecting my recoil for targets are longer distances

2nd : is it bad to use a large monitor for siege? i ask because I noticed a correlation between better gameplay on my laptop versus my PC and came to the conclusion its either I am more comfortable playing on my laptop or maybe the screen size difference is an issue. I was playing in my vehicle while traveling with my car chair as low and as far back as possible and my mouse on my center console between the driver and passenger seat. I considered that my vehicle gaming setup with that versus my PC set up could be having an effect on my comfort while playing.

3rd: Should I just use lasers since I'm plat 2 to emerald 5. pretty much every post says the enemy is already gonna know where you are roughly in higher lobbies so the ADS speed advantage is a plus as long as you hide it as best as you can from approaching enemies and not give away your position. I understand this can vary depending on the weapon type you use like shotguns, pistols, etc.

4: what weapons should i utilize iron sites on for the ADS advantage? in your opinion.`

5: is there a good place I can find people to play with? i use the R6 server and you don find a good 5 stack there a lot of the time but most of the time you are with various people that don't care about strats, coms, shutting up or not arguing when dead, etc. I ask this since I solo queued at the beginning of the season and had a .7 KD and now with stacking I have grinded to a .96 and believe if I always plays with well rounded players that aren't toxic ill always come out on top

How to control horizontal and vertical recoil?

With weapons like F2 i can still hold the mouse down enough to work, but with Smg-12 and Reaper the horizontal recoil really gets in the way. What i'm doing wrong?

Coaching

Hi, I have a fair few hours in siege but I feel I need a decent player to help me out. My game sense is decent but I think I need help developing awareness and positioning.

Thanks a lot
