Found cat in Virginia Beach

This sweet boy came up to me last night & I brought her home. He’s very friendly. Covered in scabs (no visible fleas). Seems very skinny to me— I can feel every vertebrae and bone on him. He’s in the bathroom as I have a cat already and don’t want any potential disease transfer.

I don’t have the money to vet him fully but I dont want to abandon him. Any advice? I do plan to have him scanned for a chip today. I will adopt him if him and my other cat can coexist and there are no untreatable diseases.

Edit: changed gender because it’s a boy
