I had my doubts about the F-91W I purchased on Amazon, especially since it was listed under what appeared to be the official Casio store. Everything seemed to check out on the surface: the Casio branding, the screws on the case back, it all looked legitimate. But something about the display just didn’t sit right with me.

I decided to order directly from Casio’s website to compare, and the difference is immediately obvious. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s genuinely hard to convey through images alone, but the viewing angle on the genuine model is in a different league entirely. And the rubber strap? Miles better. The one from Casio feels noticeably more premium; the texture and quality of the rubber is something you have to feel to appreciate.
If you have any doubts about the authenticity of your F-91W, do yourself a favour and order directly from Casio’s website. The difference speaks for itself.

I came across this Reddit page a few weeks ago now and just had to pick one up. I understand the hype now. Perfect size, day, date and time, stopwatch and alarm, all for £15 what’s not to love! I think my Tudor BlackBay 54 will be getting even less wrist time.
