I’ve been working in customer service for years, and honestly, I’m starting to feel really tired and burned out.
The work itself is already exhausting, but it has become harder because our company is short-staffed. Because of that, we often have to do extra work and stay for additional hours. On top of that, my commute going back home takes around 1 and a half hours, so by the time I get home, I feel drained with very little energy left for myself or my family.
I know customer service has taught me a lot, especially patience, communication, teamwork, and handling pressure. But at this point, I feel like I need a change. I want to grow, learn new skills, and find a better opportunity where I can build a more stable and fulfilling career.
I’m open to career advice, suggestions, or opportunities that might fit someone with strong customer service, leadership, and operations experience. I’m willing to learn and start again if needed.
Has anyone here successfully changed careers from customer service? What path did you take, and what skills should I focus on first?
