Still trying out medication, some advice wanted

I have a meeting with my psychiatrist this Thursday. I’ve been doing 30mg Elvanse +5mg Dex and two more doses of 5mg Dex based on nothing more than my common sense and the fact that the Elvanse alone wasn’t doing it for me, after previously being on 15mg dex + two times 10mg dex. However the psychiatrist was not available for threee weeks so I kinda had to figure it out on my own. He said to start on 30mg Elvanse and if I needed I could add the dex.

I also tried out 60mg Elvanse because I thought maybe a higher dose would be better. Last week when I tried this once it was really great and had the best day so far, but that was a work from home for my creative job day. After about 9/10 hours I crashed and wasn’t really able to do much after, however I had a really positive productive day, I felt great, was able to communicate better and structure my thoughts.

Today I tried 60mg during my normal job. While I managed to get a lot more done than normally I didn’t really see that kuch of a difference than yesterday with 30mg Elvanse + 5mg Dex and two booster 5mg.

Also I crashed again this afternoon and have been eating all the ice cream I could find in my house. It’s disgusting.

I’m scared that the psychiatrist will change the dose/meds again, and I’m not sure what it will change to. I’m a bit over the trial and error phase. Dex seemed to work but I have to work on not forgetting the doses (I set timers but when I’m in the middle of something and the timers goes off I’m not taking my meds). So he switched me to Elvanse but that dose obviously isn’t enough. It’s better with the added 5mg but it still doesn’t feel enough. The 60 felt great, but then I crash, so I need a booster in the afternoon still I think?

I want to come prepared with a proposal instead of having him experiment with the dose even more to avoid the constant chaos and lack of focus due to the wrong dose / medication.

Does any of you have any insight?
