As a player who loves this game and was enjoying grinding in it, the lasgun surfing exploit ruins it for me.

Lasgun surfing is an obvious exploit that invalidates the thopter rocket vs thruster/storage dynamic. It's obvious that intended gameplay was rocket thopters can damage but they can't keep up with a thruster-equipped thopter that is maneuvering well.
But Lasgun surfing completely makes all that pointless because lasguns do the highest damage to thopters, and by surfing they can keep up with any vehicle. It makes pvp so boring because the only way to counter it is to do it yourself.
I know I'm going to get a lot of replies saying, "just don't do pvp content then". I will say those people are missing the point. I would like to participate in pvp. I would even enjoy being the "prey" player in pvp, but only as long as it was balanced for fun gameplay. And the fact that a "prey" player has no options against this exploit makes me want to put the game down until it's fixed.
All the pve content is amazing though.
