Yesterday, May 15th, the "Nice Nature Memorial Donation 2026" (NNMD2026) program concluded.
This year, we once again received tremendous support from many people, far exceeding our target amount, for our donation campaign to support retired racehorses, coinciding with Nice Nature's birthday. We are deeply grateful for everyone's generosity.
This donation event, now in its third year, is a "memorial" event following the passing of Nice Nature. When we announced on social media at the beginning of April that we would be holding NNMD again this year, we received many warm messages from people saying things like, "It's back again this year," "We've been waiting," and "We'll support you." We were truly grateful for and encouraged by the voices of everyone who was looking forward to NNMD. In addition, this year the English version of "Uma Musume Pretty Derby" was released, so we also received a lot of feedback from people overseas.
NNMD2026 surpassed its initial goal of 25,000,000 yen on April 30th, and achieved its second goal of 36,000,000 yen on May 8th. Ultimately, we received donations of 48,889,170 yen from 9,030 supporters, which is 195% of our initial goal.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude once again to everyone who has given us such warm support.
Last year, at the end of NNMD2025, I wrote that April 16th, Nice Nature's birthday, is "Retired Racehorse Day," a day to think about retired racehorses. Thanks to everyone's warm feelings of "We've been waiting for you" and "We'll support you," I believe this day has taken on a special meaning again this year.
The theme for NNMD2026 is "Turning Graded Stakes (Central and Local) Winners into Foster Horses." Thanks to everyone's support, we are able to welcome more horses than our target number into our foster care program. At the same time, we need more support for each individual horse, including recruiting foster parents (FP/adoptive parents) to support their lives after adoption.
To extend the lives of as many horses as possible, our organization will continue its support activities for retired racehorses. We appreciate your continued support.
