LPT: Cover the stems of a banana to slow down ripening. To speed up ripening, put them in a bag with air in it. It will contain the ethylene gas; a plant hormone that bananas give off through their stems that affects how fast they will ripen.

The bag could be a plastic one you get at the grocery store. Put the bananas in and create a round pocket of air; so it looks like a ball. Over time, the ethylene gas the bananas omit will fill the bag.

Can you not build the alters floating above the ground?

I’m trying to build one of the alters, but it says “You can’t build on a service that isn’t level”. I assume you need to place it on the ground, then?

Tip: Buy the Packing Tips, PP Up, Handy Bag, and Mysterious goggles from the PC shop as you go through your playthrough.

I played the entire game mostly ignoring the items in the PC shop, and didn’t realize that some of the items in there would’ve been extremely helpful.

If you’re just starting the game or even if you don’t know about them, I would suggest to buy these items.

Packing Tips (4 lvls; 2,800 total coins): Increases the slots in your bag.

Handy Bag (500 coins): Give you an extra 10 slots out of your inventory.

PP Up (4 lvls; 3,900 total coins): Increases how long your abilities last.

Mysterious goggles (100 coins): Allows you to go to other people’s dream islands in virtual mode. Need a Nintendo Online Subscription.

I won’t be replying to comments anymore, since I only get downvoted. I made the post to help people, not be criticized for not knowing something.

Just to add more context, I didn’t completely ignore the shop. I only got items that were required to progress through the game like the pokemon center, dens, watermill, windmill, etc kits. If a specific item was needed for a quest, I would buy it because the game told us to. There were so many random recipes and habitat hints that were given in the shop as you progress through the game that I became desensitized to what was unlocked, ignored them for the most part, and I missed the ones in this post because they were between them. To be honest, I never even saw them. I probably just scrolled past them because of the plethora of items in the shop.

I only played through the game for the exploration, not building; which I’m doing post-game. That’s why I didn’t look at most of the recipes/items; because I didn’t need to use them to finish the game. If it would have been reversed, I may have seen the items sooner.
