Bait-and-switch remote job offer: Discussed ₱115k, but official offer is ₱80k for 8 hours (₱115k requires 12 hours)
Just got a remote job offer, but I’m having serious second thoughts.
During the interview, the rate discussed was ₱115,000 (it was also advertised as such on Linkedin). However, when the official offer came through, they explained that ₱80,000 is for an 8-hour shift, and the ₱115,000 is only if I work 12 hours a day. Essentially, they are pushing a 12-hour workday to hit the rate we talked about, which completely threw me off.
What is your opinion on this? Would you walk away from it, or try to negotiate?
