Goku’s wish at the end really kills whatever GT was trying to do
At the end of GT Goku makes one final wish to Shenron before he goes: to bring back those who died during the calamity from the events of the Shadow Dragons and Super 17. And Shenron…grants the wish. Despite his rules, despite his unclear way of doing it, and despite all the reason why this shouldn’t happen, in or out of universe, it just…happens.
I may be possibly the only person on who believes this, but this completely undercuts everything they were trying to say about the Dragon Balls. It was bad enough they made entirely new Dragon Balls that should’ve been warned about 50 years ago. It was completely ridiculous that they made the Dragon Balls have a limit before they’re “corrupted” despite the simple act of, once again, WARNING the Z-Fighters. But now they completely chuck that artificially flavored lesson out the window just for a “happy ending”.
I know for sure I’m alone in this, but this really ruined what little respect I had, which was already microscopic, but then they just throw away whatever plot contrived mess they were making up just so everyone lived happily ever after. Good God.
