Yeah. That is what my husband said.

I am currently no-contact and he is low-contact. I started therapy again bc of MIL. I talked to DH after and it was a good talk, he recognized all the toxicity and hurt she’s caused, but he can’t fully accept me and the kids being no-contact. It’s painful, I understand.

He wants me to have some contact with her so our kids will know her, and - I quote: just treat her as you would a person with a mental disability.

Not a personality disorder (she clearly has that.) but like a special needs CHILD.

….and to be completely honest, it’s actually softened my boundaries slightly. Like 1%.
