My favorite deck of all time was [[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]] and then the banning of [[Jeweled Lotus]] plus the fact that the deck was stolen made me rethink the deck. Without Lotus Parun seems too color intensive needing so many pips so I was looking for an alternative commander suggestions.
I played Niv as a Control, Storm, Combo deck in Bracket 4 (Optimized) and I thought I would build [[Vivi Ornitier]]. Alas Vivi is too much of a target and honestly the deck plays a lot of cards that honestly I don't want to play like [[Bulk Up]], [[Monstrous Rage], etc. Now I know I could just build Vivi without those cards but that wouldn't be optimal, so I'm looking at some other options.
The 3 commanders I have my eye on currently are [[Niv-mizzet, Visionary]], [[Sanar, Unfinished Genius]], and [[Ral, Monsoon Mage]] none of which really play the same role Parun did.
I'd love some feedback, and thoughts from people who maybe have piloted these decks or have any good alternative suggestions!
