My dealership is a complete scam
So a couple of weeks ago my car became very sluggish and the symptoms got worse the longer the drive/trip.
I had an old Bluedriver scanner available and tried to search online for the symptoms and how to read the live data.
I knew that my obd2 scanner was too basic and i went ahead and ordered a more professional that supported Mazda specific codes.
The symptoms it displayed was that of a flooded canister (short trims dive into -25% and purge 100% every time i want to accelerate and purge on idle was all time 30% once warmed up)
Fuel tank was under immense pressure like my fuel was almost boiling after driving 1 hour.
Then i started monitoring catalyst temps that went up to almost 2300F and this is probably why my fuel got so heated and creating immense pressure.
I also went ahead and brought the car in and explained my symptoms before my new scanner arrived, they said they had to replace the battery (which was already renewed by them last oil change) and also fuel lines and fuel cap of the tank which makes no sense as the seal is working...
I got the car back 3 days later and surprise still the same issues, and no check engine light just like before.
They also charged me $150 USD for their diagnostic scanner (note i live in Colombia and quality or standards are not like in the USA)
They charged me like $1000 USD in parts which did not fix the issue, but a day after i got the car back from Mazda my scanner arrived an XTool A30M, i really did not expect too much of it and after setting it up and downloading all the updates the scanner performed an automatic scan and oh boy what a surprise...
My car was in limp mode because they probably left the lights on and charged me a new battery, because of the voltage drop it caused all sorts or fault codes that stayed active:
My other scanner like i said was outdated and could not see those codes, upon searching those codes some of them are related to limp mode and a voltage drop of a drained battery would cause them.
After deleting the codes my car ran normal again and no more issues with my cat overheating and heating up the fuel, no more negative trims, no more stalling when driving uphill etc... i scanned several times after to be sure no pending codes would appear i did several short trips then longer trips and all ok...
Then i got really suspicious and checked the battery they installed had a fabrication date order then my last one they replaced and i dug up my logs of my other obd2 scanner where i checked the battery voltage with engine of and surface tension removed had a higher voltage vs the one that is installed right now.
Nonetheless the battery is ok but not in new condition.
So basically i cannot service my car anywhere else perhaps another city with another Mazda dealership. Unless it is just changing oil, filters, tires i can go other places but if anything breaks that requires Mazda involvement im pretty much screwed.
