Whenever I press fullscreen, the entire window fades before entering fullscreen mode, and the same fade animation happens again when exiting fullscreen. It feels a bit odd.
Is there any way to revert it or disable this new transition?

I just watched a teaser for Odyssey in a premium large-format (non-IMAX) theater, and it was shown in a flat aspect ratio. Does this mean the full movie will be presented in flat across all non-IMAX PLFs?
