Is anyone else completely fed up with their academic advisor?

I genuinely tried to do everything right from the start, be respectful, ask clear and concise questions, check every single day for meeting availability (there never is any), and follow the process. But over time, the communication from my advisor has gotten increasingly condescending, less helpful, and a lot of the time doesn’t even address what I’m actually asking.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to get a schedule override so I can register for more summer and fall classes. I understand there are policies, and I was told they want to wait until my grades post first. Fair enough.

But I’m currently taking 24 credits this spring and pulling A’s across the board, so I’ve been trying to plan ahead.

What’s frustrating is that even when I email asking about completely different things (like internships, enrollment processes, or program requirements) keep getting the exact same copy-paste response: “As we’ve said before, you must wait until your grades are posted and no schedule overrides are guaranteed.”

At this point it feels less like advising and more like being brushed off. Is this normal? How do you deal with an advisor who seems unwilling to actually engage with your questions?

Edit : to those saying "book an appointment" every week i check to see if there are slots open and every week I get the same message of "Apologies, there are currently no appointments available. If you have questions or need course recommendations, please email chsonline@asu.edu and we will respond within 24-48 business hours. Our appointment schedule opens 2 weeks in advance. We do recommend checking back tomorrow as additional appointment times will open."
