Is Poly better than the Tempe campus?

Hi, I am a rising sophomore in EE, attending the Tempe campus. I was thinking of switching to poly, because I feel like its more quieter, and may not be as much of hassle to attedent classes (finding parking, walking etc). But I was wondering if anyone has done this before, and if its worth it?

I am only really worried about clubs and internship opportunities, or if nothing will change if i change campuses, has this been the case for anyone or should it be something I should be worried about?

Also is the campus 'nice'? Like is it a good place to study, I do like Tempe's Noble and Hayden library, and was wondering if poly has something similar, I don't know why but when I imagine poly all i can think of is a desert with a box building.

Please give me undergrad advice 🙏🙏🙏

I am really torn about what route to take for my undergrad. For some context, I am an incoming freshman at ASU online, majoring in Biological Sciences with a biomedical studies focus. I’m an Arizona resident and going to ASU made the most sense financially. I have known for years that I wanted to go to medical school and have 220 hospital volunteering hours and 25 hospital shadowing hours across five departments. Additionally, I grew up with a MD dad and my brother is attending DO school in the fall, so I have always been around the healthcare environment. I have a boyfriend of two years who also wants to attend medical school. As difficult as it may be, we want to try to get into the same medical school, as we are attending universities in different states and would really not like to have to do eight years of long distance, if possible.

My question and reason for posting is that I don’t know if ASU online is the best choice, all things considered. I did my entire high school online, so I am familiar with how online school works. Situation wise, it fits my family’s schedule the best. I just don’t know if attending ASU online is that disadvantageous when compared to attending an ASU in person campus. Please give me some insight and advice, thank you!

Can someone help me understand this? I'm trying to figure out if I'm currently taking courses that apply or I'm wasting time. I'm currently in 240 and 426, and have an advising appointment next week. Is the course list the courses that actually apply towards mass comm degree? Thank you!

Is ASU good for pre-meds/public health majors?

Incoming senior here. I am making my college lists and I am lowk interested in ASU. I have not done a lot of research so don’t come for me but, ASU has a lot of bad PR and I can’t find a lot about pre med students there.

Is there good clinical volunteering opportunities, clubs, shadowing opp, etc there?

I would also like to know how life is in Tempe. I don’t mind the weather bc it’s similar to my state (FL). I know ASU is a big party school but I want to know more about the lifestyle students have.

Icourses as a freshman

I haven’t gotten an email for signing up for an icourse and on my automated schedule they gave me a hybrid. I chose to take rel 202 after my meeting with advisors. My brothers advisor emailed him saying he isn’t allowed to take an icourse. Will anything happen if we just stay in there? The class had open seats and wasn’t restricted like other icourses. I’m evening taking brief calculus online… I think the advisor may be making empty threats based on ASU wanting freshman to be on campus.

CSE 445 and 360?

I’m a Data Science student but on the CS track,

I have some extra upper level hours so looking at 360 and 445 since distributed networks skills seem important. I’d have to get appeals for both.

How much did either/both of these classes help you?

Do you think it’s worth taking or should I just blow it off with an easy upper level?

Too stressful

Soooo I may not be a Sun Devil (for the foreseeable future).

My family just gonna have to be mad, but I'm sure, just like me, many of you have experienced the same stress with ASU. They take forever to help, costs an arm and a leg after 32k in scholarships. Housing is annoying, and just overall, me moving across the country and leaving my family alone, working like a slave to keep up with loan payments, and taking 30 credit hours in a school year just don't sound like a good idea for me. It just makes me not wanna go. I already have a lease agreement with an apartment that I'll continue to pay for. I just want out of whatever the hell experience this is. I have severe depression, anxiety, and ocd and they won't release me from housing, and I'm barely getting help with disability services. You all are some warriors, not me, though. Y'all stay safe out there.

signed,

a soon-to-be community college student.

edit: yes ik asu is expensive for oos students, I dont care about costs and am willing to take the loans out. im perplexed because asu is acting blind to the fact that I need accommodations even though I've provided letters and records from my primary physician, my therapist, and my psychiatrist. its almost like they literally only care about money. so yeah not a place i think im willing to invest myself in lol, may as well spend that money on more therapy and actual self-enriching programs.

Is ASU online scholarship worth driving with Uber / Uber Eats?

Hello. I am considering driving with Uber and Uber Eats in Texas after learning about the seemingly amazing scholarship (with Arizona State University online) you can access after 2,000 lifetime rides/deliveries and keeping other qualifications up also.

I’ve read everything I could find about it.

🌟Those who have driven with Uber/Uber Eats and received the scholarship or know someone who has:

Please give me your most honest, detailed answer (and feel free to DM me your answer if that makes you more comfortable):

Is it worth it?

I would deeply appreciate your help, as I’ve been through some really, really awful things, and I’m trying to thrive and not just survive (as I’m sure we all are).

Thank you in advance for any honest and correct help!!!!
I truly appreciate it!! 😊💕

Also, thank you very much to whoever posted about this scholarship recently, because that is how I heard about it! Thank you!! 😊💕

Transcripts

I have no idea who to ask this to anymore, I’ve emailed my admission counselor person and submitted a help request but they’re all saying the same thing. I’m a future ASU student (incoming freshman) and I had sent my high school transcripts through parchment like my school told me to in April & May. I have yet to see the priority task be marked off, and I’m starting to get stressed out. I think it’s important to note the following since it probably is the cause of my issue (but I have 0 clue how to fix it). I accidentally made 2 parchment accounts (for some reason I couldn’t figure out how to change my password on my original account) where I sent my dual enrollment transcript on one and my high school transcript on the other.

This whole time I had hoped it wouldn’t change anything but now I think it’s not working out for me. When I told my admission representative this and the help center, they both told me not to worry about it because sometimes it can take up until July to process my transcripts. But because of my mistake regarding my accounts, I think this was caused by my end. So my question is, what should I do? Should I contact ASU again and try to get more help? Should I order my transcripts again? Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense I just don’t know what to do atp and I’m really busy with prepping to move into dorms and whatnot.

Software engineering degree

Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about doing the ASU Software Engineering program through Starbucks SCAP and would love to hear from anyone who's in the program or has graduated.

How was it, what were the hardest classes, and how has finding a job been after graduating? My biggest goal is choosing a major that will lead to a stable career, so I'm also open to hearing if you'd recommend a different major.

Also, if anyone is currently in the program and would be interested in being a mentor, studying together, or just connecting, I'd love to meet more people.

Thanks in advance :)

Anywhere to study on campus on the 4th of July? Library and MU close

I have an exam coming up and I’m having a hard time focusing in my apartment. Since the Library and MU will be closed on July 4, does anyone know of any good places on campus where I can study? Thanks!

Panicking Parent

Update 7/1: daughter met with her advisor and has a plan. She’s going to apply for a medical withdrawal and take MAT 213 in person at Phoenix College in the fall. Thanks for your compassion and helpful advice!!

My daughter can’t pass MAT 251. She walked in May’s graduation knowing she’d be taking the class for the second time in summer school. She just found out she got a D and needs a C for her major- Conservation of Biology and Ecology. What can we do??!! Her advisor has no availability and we are panicking. She wants to start applying for grad school in December😫

ENG302

so I have enrolled with prof Adam Webb for Fall 2026 - ENG 302 and it's Hybrid. Does this mean I'll have to go in class? Does he have attendance? I'm asking since I'll be commuting long time to campus and i'm trying to get through my classes online. Do you think I should avoid this specific class section cuz it's hybrid?

Just submitted my application today (July 1st); when do the very first rolling decisions usually drop?

Hey everyone! I know ASU usually takes around 2-3 weeks to send back an admission decision once everything is submitted and in review. Since applications just opened up and I submitted mine today, I'm wondering if they actually start processing and rolling out decisions right away in July, or if the admissions office waits until August/September to start updating My ASU portals?

Anyone who applied super early in previous cycles remember when they got their acceptance? Thanks!

HELP!!! Need a job at/close to Tempe campus

I've been job searching like crazy since the month of May especially through ASU Workday and have received rejection after rejection. I've had several second interviews only to be turned down. At this point, I'm ready to do anything for work so long as it's near Tempe campus so that I can balance school and work. I need to get a job by at latest late August as my mom has gotten married recently and wants to move and I don't want to hold her back from that. The goal is to secure a job ASAP and move to an off-campus ASU housing after working for a little. Any job recommendations/general help is appreciated!!
