Should I write an inscription in belated graduation/swearing in gift for my friend?

I (30M) have been working with my friend (23F) for a little over a year, and in the last few months we have started hanging out outside of work. Recently she told me that when she graduated high school, she didn't have a ceremony due to covid, and didn't have any kind of celebration/gifts because she had been kicked out by her family prior to graduating. She also was recently sworn in to our union as a full member, but I was not able to attend the meeting due to personal matters.

I bought a copy of "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss to give to her as a (belated) graduation/swearing in gift. Everyone in my family receives a copy when graduating high school, so it felt kind of fitting. I'm debating if I should write an inscription to the effect of "whatever the milestone, know that people are proud of you, and are cheering you on."

She has been very supportive/cheering me on while I go back to college to get my degree, and I want to thank her and show her the same kind of support, but I don't know if the inscription is too much or maybe just weird.

edit: added ages per advice from automod
