How powerfully is ghosting in spelunky HD

I finally unlocked the temple shortcut and now my next goal will be hell/underworld. I have a lot of trouble fighting a pack of blood thirsty lunatic shop keepers in black market. I have attempted ghosting many times but quickly run out of supplies and run out of bombs for the hidden shortcut/ black market in the jungle. I understand all the progression but I just cant fight a bunch of shopkeepers running like bullets across the screen. Anything I should know about ghosting in splunki HD?

In my build im using buckler for parrying, hand of malenia, sleeping pots for hand of malenia waterfall dance, Nagakiba with unsheath for stun. Im also using the full beast champion set. My levels are 59 vigor, 19 mind, 33 endurance, 24 strength, 56 dex and 10 arcane, faith, and int. Im level 117 and im using radigons talisman which im going to get a rid of, dragon crest talisman, ritual shield talisman, and green turtle talisman. The boss Im on is the elden beast. Is there any suggestions to make myself more aggressive?
