Developed my first cold sore
This week has been so devastating for me. I developed a cold sore a few days after spending the weekend and getting intimate with my partner.
I didn’t know what it was and I just thought I was coming down with a cold. I went to the pharmacy a few days after and they gave me acyclovir and told me to apply and didn’t tell me anything else.
I went home and entered a whole obsession mode after I discovered that a cold sore is same as herpes. I got so scared because my partner and I had engaged in both oral and penetrative sex before I developed the sore so we could have transmitted the virus to each other during sex.
I was so scared, but I called him this morning he came to see me, I told him about the sore and we decided to go get tested tomorrow. He was also as clueless as I was. I’m still scared of the results and mostly about having given him the HSV unknowingly
I’m so scared of what if the test comes back positive and what it could mean for our relationship but I really pray that if anything, his comes back negative because I don’t know if I can live with myself
