What does you love most about Red Corsairs? What drew you to them?

Personally, I have long-loved the idea of renegade marines, with no mutations.

I am an avid converter/kit basher - being able to do a corsair unit as a different themed marine renegade is really cool, and they stay pretty clean looking.

e.g my chosen are sword brethen conversions

UCS starfighter collection with ratings

A-wing

build fun: 6/10

final look: 8/10

swoosh : 7/10

This was a pretty boring build compared to the others, however looks great on display and can be swooshed pretty well. I think where this lost points is on the weak cockpit design, it is only loosley connected, and you have to change the build a little bit to make it sit flush. (sometimes the engines fall off easily)

B-wing

build fun: 7/10

final look: 6/10

swoosh : 2/10

A rare marketplace find I added recently, the build was challenging for an older set, but enjoyable enough. Looks OK once built however the cockpit isnt very accurate. You can't move this one without the wings breaking off, low swoosh rating as guns and wings fall off easy. I honestly didn't remember this from the OT, but my friend showed me they were atleast in a frame or 2 during the battle of endor for ~2 seconds. so i guess that counts.

X-wing

build fun: 8/10

final look: 10/10

swoosh : 0/10

A challenging, fun and rewarding build. Looks amazing, and i have a soft spot for the x-wing. small issues with the wings staying closed but i prefer the X formation anyway. Don't even think about swooshing this one, even looking at it wrong will cause panels to fall off. I really liked the build and love the final result. I had to shorten the thrusters to display it however.

Y-wing

build fun: 9/10

final look: 9/10

swoosh : 9/10

One of the best UCS models ever, a cool build process with some fun challenges. I think it looks amazing on display. also, very solid and can be swooshed. my only issue is that the cockpit is minifig sized while the rest of the build is upscaled.

N1 starfighter

build fun: 6/10

**final look: 8/**10

swoosh : 5/10

I love the Naboo starfighter, i was the perfect age when Phantom menace was released, so this and the pod racers are really nostalgic for me. Unfortunately this was an impulse-buy, i wish i didnt buy it as it doesnt really fit in with the collection in hindsight (OT starfighters). Fairly average build process, a few difficult joins on the exterior panels but final look is sleek and much longer than i expected. difficult to display. not very swooshable, panels fall off and awkward to hold. terrible stickers, not too happy with this purchase but trying to remain neutral. TIE Bomber or Advanced would have been a much better release.

TIE Fighter

build fun: 8/10

final look: 9/10

swoosh : 8/10

Inpressive for an older UCS set, although doesnt look "that" dated next to smoother Interceptor. the Build was methodical and pleasing, some of the wing panels are a bit dull and dated, however I can upgrade these with some newer gloss pieces, not that I would but totally doable. Looks great on display and i like you can rotate it on the stand. very sturdy and can be swooshed with ease.

TIE Interceptor

build fun: 9/10

final look: 10/10

**swoosh : 4/**10

This was so fun and a little challenging to build, it looks so good on display too. My favorite imperial starfighter easily. I loved the updated and smoother cockpit. low swoosh rating as parts of cockpit come off easy. I think this was one of the bettet UCS sets, and I hope to see a TIE Bomber or Advanced soon to help even out the collection.
