Hey guys need some advice buying my first bike.

So I found a 1981 yamaha XS in marketplace with only 20k odo. When I check it out in person, it is very clean, new tires, it looks like it installed last month or this month. Over all it is superb, it starts and run well, the price is ($2.5k).

Am I crazy considering buying it? Should I look for another bike?

I plan to ride my first motorcycle for a couple of years btw. Before I will buy a new one (need to save first). Also I plan to commute with it (6km total, everyday). I live in Canada so I can inly use it till November (maybe) and will park it to the underground garage.

For context: I’m 32M in GTA right now , I work as a 3D artistry year and then the studio close and I am currently working as a maintenance worker.

I was thinking pivoting to trades (welding). I just have some questions for welder in here.

Do you guys recommend going pre-apprenticeship? I am close to “general welding school”, and was thinking to enrol later this year or next year.

Also during pre-apprenticeship, is it considered an experience? And do you guys have recommendations on school that I can learn to weld?

Hey guys! Just like the title says, I have some questions about purchasing a used motorcycle privately (fb marketplace).

I saw a 2000 Honda shadow that I like, it looks clean and well maintained and it’s just 15 mins. Walk to my apartment. I haven’t seen it ( I didn’t message the seller yet because I have some questions).

My question

1. Is it okay to ask if the seller to provide safety certificate? (I do not have any experience on motorcycle, this gonna be my first one)

2. Is this all the list of documents I need for the seller (ownership and UVIP)?

3. Will the seller give UVIP even if I’m not buying it yet? And what website I can check this UVIP in Ontario?

4. Can I lie about the price of the motorcycle? (When paying the tax)

If anyone from Ontario, I really need some answer ( don’t have anyone I can ask, my father which is a biker died 6 years ago)
